Visit to the San Antonio Witte Museum

It has been called “one of the most sophisticated and powerful civilizations of all time.” So we had to see a special exhibit at the Witte Museum titled, Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed. Mayans are close to my heart since my Grandfather and his ancestors on his Mother's side were Mayan. And we named our second Daughter Maya as a tribute to her ancestors. The Mayan exhibit was an interactive experience where we went through various stations learning facts and observing maps, pictures, and artifacts of the Mayans. We learned about the Mayan culture, language and their contribution to society.

We then walked around to another building called the H-E-B Body Adventure. All the floors have interactive areas to promote health and wellness. We had a great time!

The entrance to the Witte has this cute elephant

I asked Maya to and Maya to smile next to Maya's name, this was their reaction.

Working on one of the activities from the exhibit

On our way out, we saw these ducks. Maya was so happy to see them.

This sculpture beautifully depicts Motherhood:)

May LA visit- Josefina's shower

Josefina did a great job decorating these tables and making a lot of these decorations

Josefina was nice enough to change the week for her shower in May so I could join her. I was going to be in LA in May for Kevin’s graduation so it was so nice to take advantage and celebrate with my best friend. Josefina is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. She is super sweet and has been like a Sister for me. She makes sure this military wife doesn’t feel forgotten as in every place we’ve moved to, always manages to send us cute packages, and postcards of her trips. One of my favorite postcards have been when she flew to Peru. Josefina's shower was so fun and crafty! We made hair pieces and onesies for her Daughter. It was a blessing to see Josefina and wish her all the best as she welcomed her 3rd child.

Kevin's college graduation from CSUN

My not-so little brother graduated with a B.S. in Finance from California State University Northridge. I flew for the weekend with Maya on Friday May 20 and he graduated on Sunday May 22. CSUN is my alma matter where I also graduated 8 years ago!

The day was beautiful and I honestly had tears joy and happiness for him. As he was walking across the stage, I remembered helping my Mom cradle him to sleep when I was at 5 years-old and he, a newborn. I remember how his curly jet black hair, and how tiny and cute he was! And now, he is so tall and handsome:) My Dad and Uncles also came to congratulate him and it was nice to catch up with them.
Congrats Kevin! We are so proud of your accomplishments and hard work. We love you!

The ceremony was held in front of the huge Oviatt Library

***This month we found out Enoch got selected from a very competitive bunch to become an Officer in the Air Force. He applied back in January so we were anxiously waiting for the results. We couldn't be happier and I couldn't be more proud of my dear husband. We don't know where or when we will be moving but we are thinking next year in 2017. Exciting adventures await!
