5 month-old Maya

Baby Maya turned 5 months last week. Her respiratory issues got worse before they got better, which resulted in an ER visit. After the ER visit, we gave her the higher strength meds on the nebulizer. We also placed Eucalyptus essential oil on her humidifier. She is thankfully better. We are elated to see she is getting better. We prayed fervently and constantly in our home pleading God to help our little Baby. We are so grateful our prayers were answered!

Once she started doing better, we really started being consistent in feeding her solids. She really enjoys sweet potatoes and her favorite baby food is the combination of broccoli, green beans and pears. She eats it up! When we went to LA, Grandma Gloria's present to Maya was a jumper. She loves it because it has so many toys and is practicing motor skills. She won't stay on the jumper for too long but, just enough for me to do a very quick task. Maya and Melany continue to bond. One if the best things in the day is to see how Maya smiles and chuckles when she sees Melany. Maya will grab Melany's hair and laugh while she's doing it. Maya is so young but already is very playful.

4 month-old Maya

Facial expressions galore!
4 month old-Maya has been growing faster than we can keep up with. She's had a pretty rough past month. She's been sick for weeks! I took her to the doctors and saw the PA, who had Maya tested for the flu, RSV and food allergies. The results came out negative. I almost cancelled the LA trip because she continued to be sick with runny nose and cough. We prayed and felt we should go anyways since the PA just said some babies just catch some viruses but she could not be given any medication. Well unfortunately, Maya didn't get better in LA which resulted in limited outings and no beach for us:(  I'm not going to lie, it's been really hard getting up several times throughout the night because Maya wakes up constantly.

When we got back from LA, we were able to see Maya's Pediatrician for her 4 month check-up. The doctor heard her chest and it was congested/wheezing. So the doctor diagnosed her with Reactive Airway disease (RAD). She prescribe us meds to give to her through a nebulizer machine, which we give twice a day. Maya hates it. But interesting enough, she hasn't been too fussy. She amazes me because despite being sick, she manages to laugh, smile and giggle specially during a tickle session. The good news is she is developing well, as she is in the 50% percentile in height and weight. On 1/7/14(the date of her 4 month check-up) she was 13.9lbs and 23 3/4 inches long.

I learn so much from this adorable 4 month-old baby. Sure, I'm exhausted and tired, but feel so blessed to have such a beautiful, happy child.

Having a little too much fun at church;)

LA Trip- Part 2

After Christmas, we drove to San Diego to visit Enoch's brother Richard, and his family. Athena, Ashish, Ashish's niece and Enoch's Dad Arno, met us there too. We had dinner, walked around Balboa Park and then headed to the San Diego temple. This was one of the highlights of our trip as we had a chance to take our girls to see where we got married. Melany, Maya and I were sick so we were limited on going out much throughout the trip. However, New Years Eve was a good time to be grateful, reflect and welcome 2015. We sadly said our goodbyes and headed back to San Antonio on Friday Ja. 2 for another 20 hour road trip.
