1 month old Maya

      It seems like Maya’s first month of life flew by. We just had so much going on. Enoch was able to get 2 weeks off paternity leave. It helped because the first week I breastfed Maya was really tough. Maya wanted to nurse but had trouble with the latching. I was in a lot of pain and it took a lot of prayer not to quit breastfeeding. It was also during Maya’s first month that we started cloth diapers. It is easier than we thought and are happy we decided to use them. Maya is getting into the routine of only waking us up once a night but there are days when we aren't so lucky.

Maya is a very sweet, and calm baby. However, she gets very upset if I don’t feed her fast but as long as she’s fed, she is happy. She has light skin, beautiful light brown hair and greyish eyes.  She looks a lot like Daddy and Melany when she was a baby.

      At her 1 month check-up this Monday, with her Pediatrician (whom we love), she was weighing 8.5 lbs and 20.5 inches long. She is very tiny and we love it. We've been used to having a big ,energetic girl around so it’s nice to have a calm, little baby. And speaking of our big girl, it’s been quite the change from going from 1 to 2 children at home. And I'm getting used to being a stay at home Mom with a toddler who has a mind of her own and a newborn baby. 

Melany has been a good helper and loves her sister most of the time, except when she cries. Melany is also getting used to not yelling so much and being a little more quiet than her usual self. Melany sings “Hush Little Baby” to Maya when she cries and ALWAYS smiles and gives her little kisses.
