12 month-old Maya!!

Our dear Maya turned 1 on Friday August 28. We made her decorations, birthday crown, onesie and other photo props. I made dinner and I baked a chocolate cake with fondant. We sang happy birthday to Maya and she loved her cake but it mostly ended in her chubby cheeks. After cake, we headed to the Landa Library to do a mini photo session. Melany and Maya looked like ballerina fairies and my heart melted to see them hold hands in the cute outfits.

Oh and did we mention tiny little Maya started waking 2 weeks before turning 1?! Yes, she wobbled a bit but then even started speed walking. Ha-ha..she looks so cute because she’s so small. Her little moccasins help her walk better. She weaned herself from nursing about a week before turning 1. It was so perfect! She did have some trouble transitioning from toddler formula so we just went straight to cow’s milk at age 1. She loves milk! She’s also transitioning out of baby foods. Oh my! Life just moves too quickly sometimes.  She can say 4 words, loves to clap and dances on cue…ha-ha.

Maya went to her first dentist appointment and Melany got a check-up with her too.At her 12 month check-up she weighed just 18.5 pounds! So tiny compared to other 1 year-olds.

Nonetheless, we are so happy to see her grow and flourish. Now we just need a little more hair in that fuzzy little head.
